George Mason University Innovation Hall

MBP designed audiovisual system upgrades for (2) auditorium style classrooms. Designs included a 6.7′ high x 23.8′ wide (297″ diagonal) LED video wall with a 1.8mm pixel pitch and 3840×1080 resolution. The wall is capable of displaying two side by side images at 1920×1080 resolution each, a single centered 1920×1080 resolution image, or a single custom 3840×1080 resolution image across the entire wall. Sources include a room computer, a wired laptop input, wireless presentation capability, a document camera, and remote feeds from the GMU broadcast studio located in the building. (4) New high definition (4K) PTZ cameras were provided for live streaming, distant learning, and recording capability. The cameras can be controlled locally or remotely from the broadcast studio. Video connections to and from the broadcast studio utilize the NDI protocol over a segmented VLAN on the campus’ local area network. (2) 40″ LED displays installed on rolling carts are provided for use as confidence monitors on the stage.

Audio system upgrades included new beamforming microphones to capture student questions, new speakers over the stage area, and Dante connectivity between the classroom and broadcast studio over the same VLAN.
